Why we photograph in the final hour of light

In the hour before sunset the light lowers and warms. Skin softens, shadows open and the water turns to pale gold.

Most of our outdoor sessions are scheduled within this window. The booking calendar marks those times so you can reserve them first.

Bring a light layer: evenings on the shore cool quickly once the sun goes down.

Photographing a property for the season ahead

The strongest imagery for a property is planned well before the first guest arrives. We begin with a walk-through and a shot list built around your calendar.

Architecture is photographed in the clearest light of the day, interiors when the rooms are at their brightest, and people and detail in between.

You receive a complete library sized for print, web and social, ready for the season.

Keeping family sessions relaxed

The best family portraits happen between the posed frames. We give children room to explore and photograph what happens naturally.

Schedule around naps and mealtimes rather than the clock. A rested family is always the most photogenic one.

And yes, the dog is very welcome.

A quiet guide to what to wear

Choose two or three soft, complementary tones and let each person wear them differently. Coordinated always looks better than matched.

Natural fabrics such as linen, cotton and cashmere photograph beautifully. Avoid logos and very small patterns.

The preparation guide includes palettes you can share with everyone in your session.
